As COVID-19 coronavirus impacts broaden across the world, UC Riverside is pointing its campus community to a frequently updated website for the latest related news. The site, https://ehs.ucr.edu/coronavirus, includes updates and frequently asked questions.

On Wednesday, March 18, Chancellor Kim Wilcox announced the campus will be closed until April 30, extending the closure from a directive several days earlier, in which campus was closed until April 3. Only the most critical on-campus functions will continue. The chancellor's notice follows guidance from the Riverside County Health Officer. On Thursday, March, 19, California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a stay-at-home order that will remain in effect until further notice.

Spring quarter instruction will be remote. No undergraduate students will be allowed in any campus labs or research facilities during spring quarter, and only critical research operations will continue on campus.

Student housing and dining services remain open for students who need them, though students have the option until March 27 of cancelling spring quarter housing and board contracts. Student Health Services is available for urgent needs only. All in-person campus gatherings are suspended.
