UC Riverside has once again been named a great value in the Princeton Review’s latest college rankings, where it also landed in the top 10 for financial aid and making an impact.

The campus is among 209 institutions in the Princeton Review’s “Best Value Colleges” for 2024, released Thursday, June 20. The list surveyed more than 650 colleges and universities before selecting 75 public and 134 private institutions for its unranked list.

Schools were selected based on return on investment for students, factoring more than 40 data points that cover academics, affordability, and career outcomes for graduates.

The Princeton Review also included seven categories in which it ranked institutions. UCR was No. 6 in Top 20 Best Schools for Making an Impact (Public Schools), No. 9 in Top 20 Best Schools for Financial Aid (Public Schools), and No. 29 in Top 50 Best Value Colleges (Public Schools).

This is the fifth consecutive year the Princeton Review has featured UCR in its best value lists.

"The schools we chose as our Best Value Colleges for 2024 are a select group: they comprise only about 8% of the nation’s four-year undergraduate institutions,” said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review.

In describing UCR academics, the publication states that students benefit from campus research, can take advantage of programs to stay on track academically, and have an abundance of courses and majors to choose from. It also describes the campus as welcoming and faculty as helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate.

The Princeton Review states that the campus maintains a diverse student body that is friendly and supportive. It describes an active campus life for students that includes music, art, cultural events, nearby hiking, over 400 campus clubs, and amenities like the Student Recreation Center and the Highlander Union Building, or HUB.

The Princeton Review is not affiliated with Princeton University. The Princeton Review is a tutoring, test prep, and college admission services company.
