UC Riverside retains its place among the top 1% of universities, according to the World University Rankings.
The campus ranked No. 242 in the 2021-22 list of the top 2,000 out of 19,788 institutions worldwide. UCR was named No. 82 nationally and in the top 50 public institutions in the US.
The rankings are published by the Center for World University Rankings, a consultancy based in the United Arab Emirates. Institutions are evaluated on quality of teaching, alumni employment, quality of faculty, research output, high-quality publications, influence, and citations.
Universities and colleges are assigned scores based on that methodology with 100 being the highest. UCR earned a score of 77.8.
Other recent honors for UCR include a No. 4 ranking among 614 U.S. universities by Education Reform Now, or ERN, a nonprofit advocacy group.
For the past two years, U.S. News & World Report, which publishes the nation’s leading college rankings list, has named UCR the No. 1 university in the nation for social mobility. Social mobility is a measure of the degree to which universities lift graduates into higher income brackets.
Other recognitions include being named the No. 1 most transformative university by Money Magazine; No. 12 public university in Forbes magazine’s “America’s Best Value Colleges” list; and No. 14 in CNBC’s “50 Colleges that Pay Off the Most” list.
