UC Riverside is ranked high for financial aid, making an impact, and value in the Princeton Review’s “Best 388 Colleges for 2023.”

The lists are based on the Princeton Review’s survey of 160,000 students attending the 388 colleges and universities profiled. They appear in the 2023 edition of the annual college guide, which will be released Aug. 23.

UCR ranked No. 11 among Best Schools for Financial Aid, No. 20 for Best Schools for Making a Public Impact, and No. 23 for Best Value Colleges among public universities.

The Best Value list features the top 50 colleges with the highest return on investment ratings based on stellar academics, affordable costs, and strong career prospects for graduates.

For the financial aid ranking, the Princeton Review measured how much financial aid is awarded to those who have need and how satisfied students are with that aid. Making an impact was based on student survey responses on community service opportunities, student government, sustainability efforts, and on-campus student engagement.

"We salute UC Riverside for its outstanding academics, and its many other impressive offerings,” said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief and lead author of The Best 388 Colleges. “We’re delighted to recommend it as an ideal choice for students searching for their ‘best-fit’ college.”

The new lists are the latest in which UCR has continued to fare well. The Princeton Review also named the campus among the top 25 public universities in its 2021 and 2022 lists.

The Princeton Review is not affiliated with Princeton University. The Princeton Review is a tutoring, test prep, and college admission services company.
